Ndx software

I love my ndx player but I don't like the software you can't find artists information only the track name on compilations and the software is very slow and sluggish I can't rely on software so I use the linn kinsky which works like a breeze any ideas thanks for looking

talk to your dealer your system is not setup correctly the software is great you should get many info on artists and albums

This has to be something to do with the server not the NDX the NDX can only process the information sent to it and it sounds like the server is not allowing it to index correctly or at least comprehensively assuming all the meta tag information is correct there is also a uPnP compatibility mode which might be something to do with it and don't forget to flush the uPnP cache also because this might allow it to repopulate correctly if all else fails you can restart everything this sometimes works although I expect you've been through this already I bet it's the server settings which are at fault

When I at first read the OP's post I could not tell if he was asking about the software the runs the NDX or software to control the NDX but since he mentioned Kinsky I assume that it's the latter I myself have tried Kinsky but I really do not find any substantial advantages over nServe other than of course that it runs on OS X versus iDevices

Thanks a lot for your replies ,I use a liv zen 2TB vortexbox music server which I bought from ebay

and have had no problems with it ,I have ripped over 2000 CDs which as took forever ,now I can excess my music with ease ,I still have a old sonos player connected through the dac side of the ndx/xps into 282/Supercap /135s/ spender a9s, the sound is not bad but the ease you using the sonos software is very fast ,when I use the naim software it's much slower snails pace, but the sound is nearly as good as my LP12 /ekos /trokia/lingo/superline/hicap , I don't understand why this happens I have spoke to audio t and naim and I was advised to use the naim forum .

i have used naim gear for over 30 years and love it ,but I can't understand why the naim software does not respond like the sonos or linn software ?

thank you for your interest.

ps sorry about my grammar no good at English prefer guitars and hifi

I haven't thought about Kinsky at all, I actually didn't even know that it would work with Naim streamers. Does it have integrated last.fm support?

Posted on: 23 November 2013 by m.rushton

just try it, i dont know if you can use it with last fm ,i use the sonos for that ,the crazy thing is its very responsive, i think the naim software looks great with very good facilities but it clogs up stopping and starting the must be a way round this and not be able to find out who the artist is when using a compilation album drives you mad.
