HiFace and OSX Mavericks

If you use HiFace don't change to Mavericks!

I believe that a few contributors use Hiface, I recently changed OSX and now it won't work. M2 tech are aware of this problem and say they're working on new drivers but it's been a while since Mavericks came out.

In the meantime have any users moved on, and if so, to what, and is it an improvement?

I just bought the HiFace 2, plug and play and sounds perfect.

Thanks DHT, not an expensive route either! The first version has always seemed fine to me and seems to work well with my gear.

I have experienced nothing but trouble in upgrading to Maverick. A complete disaster. For a start it comes with the more recent iTunes, which is not for me, as it does not have 'cover flow' and so I can't If my HiFace is plugged into the mac mini, iTunes will not even play a track. Also my Pure Music seemed to not get along with iTunes.....all in all the upgrade has been a total disaster and I am now trying to revert back to Mountain Lion and the older version of iTunes.

I wonder what happened to 'it just works'?

Personally I find quality audio and macs just don't go together... But for graphics and photography it's a different story..

HIFace 2 works without a plug-in, but HiFace I, Evo, and so on do not work with OS X Mavericks.  It's a big scandal in Italy, with accusations of defection, absconding with intellectual property, etc.   A fix is said to be in the works, but don't hold your breath.

I thought about buying a HiFace 2 but felt unhappy with m2 tech responses about my original HiFace so bought a Ciùnas instead. Have also moved from Pure Music to Audirvana plus. Would've liked to compare an Audiophilleo 2 but this wasn't possible and the latter by reputation only works properly with a separate battery supply and the Ciùnas has one built in. I am delighted with what I'm hearing.
