CDs will not rip in dB Poweramp

Posted by: JohnL on 26 November 2013

Hi, sorry if this has been posted before but I have a small number of cd's in good condition which will not rip to flac in dB Poweamp (serving NDX). Anyone else experienced this and if so, what, if anything is to be done (other than buy it again and hope for the best !!)?

thanks

John

I hope they're not part of a box set!

You could try buying a hi-res download instead, or borrowing the CD from friend / library. I assume you have polished the discs vigorously and didn't skip the drive calibration procedures beforehand?

Yes, i have had this problem with several discs. I have succeeded using another PC cd drive or ripping software or combination thereof e.g. iTunes, jriver.

good luck

Hi,

I know Warner have produced certain discs that will not read at all in certain drives, I encountered this issue myself. If it's failing during ripping and trying to re-rip for a long time try changing the settings from secure to defective by design.

Hi everybody, thanks for your help, tried the other drive (didn't work) so ended up ripping 6 cd's on "defective by design" which took a while but has done the job. Thanks for the advice.
