Hi Res Flac Downloads

Does anyone else find hi res flac downloads problematic? I purchase from several sites mainly 24/192, some are available on the Unitiserve or the Superuniti immediately after they've been copied to the nas, and the rest are still awaiting their first play via the nstream/nserve app. I'm particulary frustrated with not being able to play a hi res of Goldfrapp - Tales of us, no apparent reason why it should be so hit or miss.

I think there is a thread about this particulalry download already - have a search for it

US does not like certain characters in file names - so I think the fix was to edit the tag data so US can catalogue it.

As I say - details already on the forum I believe.

It could be the non-standard characters -- I've posted a few times about those problems.

Otherwise, I typically force a re-scan of the Downloads share after I've finished adding files (or editing tags if I've realized I missed something) if the uServe is not already scanning for them. That speeds up the process.

I do a rescan too. In situations when tracks do not show up I go through the tags. This doesn't take long and something always shows up which is different or missing on the suspect file. As stated, some characters in the file name don't seem to be liked.
