Qubuz

Posted by: Solid Air on 27 November 2013

I've seen in other threads that Qubuz is expected to land in UK next week. Good news. But I can't find any mention of integration of Naim streamers with the service. Lots about Sonos, nothing about Naim that I can see.

Thoughts/insights?

Hi Richard,

I could find Meet Me in London by Forcione. I could not find Chris Botti music. A problem with the editor. I did not check on the website. However, I could find music by Christian Botti. My experience is that the search function is not optimal in the Sonos interface.

Best,

Michel

Michel

Thanks for looking.

Content does seem to be reappearing slowly but there is still a massive difference between Sonos and the Windows application.

Take George Benson for example, 77 Albums available but only 14 showing on Sonos.  I played the Album 'In Your Eyes' on the desktop, marked it as a favorite and voila! it appeared in my favorite albums on Sonos, only that it comes up 'unable to play music'.

Hopefully they will resolve this soon.

Sure that it is not a licence issue?

On my iOS Client they all show as streamable and also on the web-site there is no message about limited access, so no license issues with George Benson.

Cheers

Ragman

I did wonder that but it was OK 2 weeks ago and there is also a post on the QoBuz forum with identical symptoms.

Some content that was missing yesterday has appeared back today so I'm just waiting patiently.

There is plenty to listen to anyway, nice to be lossless compared to Spotify which I have used for a few years now.

Richard, Aleg and Ragman,

I will try to contact Qobuz to hear what they have to say about that. I am sure they will have an answer. I will keep you posted whenever I have their word.

does anyone know if Naim is in the process of providing an easier access to stream Qobuz directly to the Naim systems, instead of  a work around it

Posted on: 03 December 2013 by KRM

Qobuz have said that they are partnering with Naim, amongst others.

This sounds good but do we know is this going to be a software update or a hardware add on ,can't wait to enjoy Qobuz properly on Uniti2

Posted on: 03 December 2013 by KRM

There was a link earlier in this thread or possibly the Spotify thread. Beyond the claimed partnership, we know nothing.

Hurrah!

It looks like they have fixed the issue with missing content on Sonos, all my content has magically reappeared.

Just listening to Antonio Forcione - Meet Me In London (Naim Label), sounds very fine indeed.

As long as this proves reliable I will be cancelling Spotify.  Whilst there isn't as much content on QoBuz there is more than enough probably to last a lifetime!

And do we know a name  to contact in Naim regarding same for a bit of clarification  maybe!

We do but I suspect if any information were to be forthcoming it would be in confidence. Probably best to corner someone at the Bristol show.

In essence (via Google translate with minor corrections) :

Qobuz launches internationally on 1 November 2013 !

At that time the streaming will be available, in addition to France, Germany, United Kingdom, Austria, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. Qobuz also announced a complete overhaul of mobile applications (iPhone, iPad, Android)...

Finally, Qobuz conducted demonstrations of its API, which is now a key part of its integration with its rich content in the audio-connected computer and many prestigious partners devices. Being integrated in Nu Force, Pro-ject, and Bluesound Nad, and coming soon on Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha, Sony, Parrot, Naim, Cambridge Audio and Linn.

"Coming soon on Naim"

(hopefully not a repeat of the Airplay announcement)

Interesting.

Have checked the side again and Naim is not mentioned any longer!

Hi,

I remember that I have read in case of a 12 month abo you just have to pay 10.

Can someone confirm this?

Posted on: 09 December 2013 by m0omo0

In my country, for Hi-Fi and Classical yes, you pay only 10 months. For Premium and Basic no. In France, Premium is also priced at 10 months for a year.
