Qubuz
Posted by: Solid Air on 27 November 2013
I've seen in other threads that Qubuz is expected to land in UK next week. Good news. But I can't find any mention of integration of Naim streamers with the service. Lots about Sonos, nothing about Naim that I can see.
Thoughts/insights?
Alex
thx
has someone of you tried to play the qobuz through JRiver

You cannot use JRiver as music management for the Qobuz catalog. Qobuz has its own client software.
the only thing is that you can select an audio device to be used by the Qobuz client. So if JRiver presents itself as an audio device (I believe they may have recently started doing so, following the example of JPlay) then you can playback using JRiver engine.
cheers

If JRiver presents an ASIO-interface then Qobuz-client can play to that interface.

I wouldn't know, if there is one thing I stay away from, it is JRiver.
unhealthy business over there.

Why you stay away?
I emailed Naim regarding Qobuz , and I received an email saying they are talking to many premium music services but cannot give a timescale. Which is reassuring in a way, it is after all what we expect from Naim , they are not ignoring such high quality streaming service and maybe just maybe working on something

A very optimistic Interpretation of a "we are Talking to many Premium Music Services...."

He has a bits-are-bits mentality and no good can come from that in digital playback.
furthermore he is actively making his product incompatible with other competitive playback engines and generates libellous pop-up messages inside his program when used with competitors engines.
he has an unhealthy mindset
