Turn off Logitech Software on ReadyNas Duo

Posted by: Mr Paws on 29 November 2013

Hi Guys,

I was wondering what would happen if I switched the Logitech add on on my ReadyNAS Duo ?

My reason is I find the whole Logitech Experience slow and cumbersome.

I use Asset uPnP so would that take over streaming duties ?

apologies if this sounds a bit daft but I'm fairly new to streaming.

Well in essence you only need the logitech server if you have a lgoitech device. If you do not, switch it off.

Indeed I thought so so I'll turn it off.

Just a though though, I have to update the Logitech Server after I've imported my CDs so will the same thing happen when I've switched Logitech Off?

Thank You .

Well, its a guess, but i am gonna say no.

if you dont have any logitech devices, why would you know/care if its slow software?

Turned it off and no music ! except for my music folder on my PC which is switched on only to update the music library on the NAS and ripping CDs to the NAS .

I will have to switch it back on again.

Hi

Hi you say you have Asset,  is that configured to catalogue the folders with the music files on the NAS.  There should be no reason to run the Logiteserver re, or the DNLA server on the readyNas if you are running Asset on the PC.

open the Asset admin tool and check it has been set to read the NAS mounted folders.  Once you do this it will take some time to read tall the files and build the database, but it will automatically add new files placed in the folders.
