download the free Naim compilation, but not free

Posted by: Claus-Thoegersen on 04 December 2013

My current posts seem all to be about high def download Christmas problems.

I have just received the naim news letter, or one of them, with an offer of downloading the compilation album

Best of British and Beyond

And a 30 pct discount on all Naim label orders placed before January 1st.

My problem is that when I follow the link the album is still priced as a normal album would be about €14.

Select the site for UK (top right hand screen) and the download is indeed free while sites for other countries don't offer it  for free.

Thanks, I will have to ask Naim if this is due to some legal reasons. Since this is Naim I am not  going to make an hdtracks sollution on this one.

However if you sign in using an existing profile with a non-UK address, it changes back from the UK setting and tries to charge you €14.99 for the 24-bit FLAC version.

So had to create an additional profile using a UK address to be able to get the free album.

Just got a reply from Simon Drake, it's all resolved now.

EDIT: Ha, there was another thread in the Music Room that I hadn't seen, so you most probably knew that already.
