John Lennon - 33 years ago on Sunday 8th

Posted by: FangfossFlyer on 07 December 2013

I cannot believe it will be 33 years ago tomorrow, 8th December, since John Lennon was killed.

It is one of those events in my life that  I can remember as if it were yesterday.

Imagine they are no countries, nothing to kill or die for.

Imagine all the people living life in peace.

You may I say I'm a dreamer but I am not the only one.

Love and peace,

Richard

It would be great if he was still with us.

He would be 73 now...

I was filling up a white Cortina at an Esso garage in Hayes, Middlesex.  I worked for a record distribution company - Record Merchandisers, so John's death had a particular impact on me that morning.

It was one of those days you remember all your life.

My 17 yo son reminded me of the occasion today. Nice for me to know John is being remembered by the next generation.

I remember him for all the good he did in the world through his creativeness. He gave so much pleasure to mankind.

He was humble and unselfish - the finest of personal qualities.

I shall always miss him.

One of the last few photos I believe of John and Yoko.

I remember coming out of a surgical Fellowship exam in Russell Square, London, to see the Evening Standard newspaper stands announcing "Lennon shot dead in New York". I remember feeling numb.

I was 10 years old and just getting into music. I didn't fully understand but thought it was cool that they played The Beatles on the radio all day. Still firm favourites today.
