Listening Chain Challenge

Posted by: GraemeH on 08 December 2013

Let's see if this works:

I'm listening to the album Above. The challenge is to suggest the next album you will listen to which has a link to it.  The link must be described by you and can be as obvious (eg. same artist - potentially boring) or as un-obvious (some hitherto unknown/unexpected connection - potentially interesting), or as oblique as you like.

Points for the most unexpected/clever/funny connections.

I find myself wondering the same thing at times. In the original post, G clearly stated "The link must be described by you". I think everyone needs to play by the rules or else I'm taking my jpegs and going home .

OK - My link was 'Permanent Waves' (Perms!) to 'Permanent Waves' (Rush).....!

The Blue Flame!

A certain Jimi Hendrix had a Randy Palmer in his band when Randy Wolfe joined.  Jimi called Palmer - Randy Texas on account of his home State.  Wolfe was from California and earned the name Randy California.

Bedemon was Randy Palmer's (Texas) music.

Interesting.......But for clarity we should agree the link has to be to the immediate preceding album or the chain gets difficult to follow?

Agree G. This only works if folks keep posting in a linear fashion. No sense posting replies or references to links farther back in the chain as it gets confusing. Although, here, I appreciate the descriptions people gave on the previous few links. Makes sense now. Thanks!

G

This post was a clarification to the link I did yesterday. (Galveston).

The last album in the chain is Galveston, this was a link to the previous last album in the chain, Rush's "Permanent Waves"

Girl On Fire [+digital booklet]

Alicia Keys as she has sung a duet with Sade who normally has a policy of no duets.

Hot Buttered Soul

Alicia Keys sampled Walk on By on her Dairy of Alicia Keys album.

Time to get this thread weaving again. This might be my only Moody Blues LP, but it provides the critical link to "My Ever Changing Moods".

Good one Joe, three links in one: blue, moody, lunch break (or possible Tuesday).

Link is King Arthur was a Knight.

Tried to add a picture of Blackmore's Night : a Knight in York, but picture decided to turn into a question mark. How do I get the picture to stay?

... and here I was thinking you were trying to be abstract, posting a blank page (lots of links possible though... Boris Blank of Yello...)

Are you posting from an iPad ? If so :

1. Copy the image

2. Open a new tab in Safari

3. Paste the picture into the address space (this inserts image URL into address bar)

4. Select the full URL in the address bar

5. Back on the forum, paste that into the image URL space in the Post Reply window.
