Listening Chain Challenge

Posted by: GraemeH on 08 December 2013

Let's see if this works:

I'm listening to the album Above. The challenge is to suggest the next album you will listen to which has a link to it.  The link must be described by you and can be as obvious (eg. same artist - potentially boring) or as un-obvious (some hitherto unknown/unexpected connection - potentially interesting), or as oblique as you like.

Points for the most unexpected/clever/funny connections.

Steve, how does "Lucy" link to the Beatles White Album? I could see a link to Sgt. Pepper but not to the White Album.

Steve said: Too little sleep last night. Sorry. It was a Beatles track though.

However, I think Steve was spot on. He was surely thinking of Eric Clapton's solo on While My Guitar. You know the one treated with automatic double tracking to give that effect. Eric gave George Harrison the guitar after the recording. Now as all Beatles fans know, George liked to give his guitars names: he called the one Eric gave him "Lucy". Hence, the link.

Wow, Steve that was brilliant of you to spot that link and kind of you to pretend you didn't to save my embarassment.
