Plastic. It's the future.

Prompted by the Dyson plastic tonearm thread, I decided to get my plastic guitar out of the loft and give it a polish.
Who'd have thought 50 years ago, making a guitar that looked like a plastic toy wasn't the way forward.
. Everything that could be made from plastic is made from plastic, although, there's plastic and there's plastic. Apart from a few hairline stress cracks around one screw, every bit of plastic is pristine, hasn't aged at all. Although the vinyl cover has shrunk in a few places.
The really good news is although it looks like a toy, it doesn't sound like a toy.
I know I've set the bar quite high, any suggestions for other iconic pieces of plastic.

Bender Bending Rodriguez is perhaps my favourite cartoon character of all time. It's either him or Stan Marsh.
Awesome guitar. Beautiful, and a real piece of history. Around 1964? With the "cheesegrater" scratchplate. Classic.

Unfortunately most people don't hold this opinion, when I show it to somebody, they either give me a funny look or say "it's plastic" AND give me a funny look.
Found this video of the version sold in the USA. I don't speak Russian but have it on good authority, he thinks it's a great guitar, solidly built with a very distinctive character and rich sound, brilliant vintage look and feel.
