Need help hooking it all up

I need some help setting up my system to get as much working as possible.

I have an AV2 and a DVD5. I can only use analogue inputs on my AV2.

Now, is there a way to output 5.1 from the dvd5 to the av2 via the analogue out or will i need an upgrade board?

And is it possible to input a digital signal to the dvd5 and have it output that signal to the analogue outs?

And I also own a nVi. Is it possible to input a DTS signal into the nVi via optical and output it via analogue outputs?

Can't help with the AV2 but I have an NVI

If you connect Optical out from a DVD/Bluray then you can feed this in to the NVI and it will decode the signal.

You could then use the NVI as a full surround system or just use it for the Centre/Rears/Sub and feed the fronts into your AV2 from the DIN output of the NVI. Does the AV2 have a unity gain setting, if so this is more convenient as you can then control the volume using the NVI? I do this into my 282 pre.

I may have already answered to some of this, sorry in case.

A DVD5 can output up to 7.1 in analogue if it has a special board on, in which case you use two special cables and use the versatile 5-pin analogue inputs n° 1 and 2 on the AV2, set to 'combined' mode.

I don't know if your DVD5 has the multichannel board on, I once bought it from Naim.

You are not supposed to open the DVD5 but an authorized person could see if the board is present because it's a largish board fixed on top of the main one, with spacers.
