Eagles in 192hz/24 bit

Posted by: APT on 03 January 2014

Hi,

Has anyone heard the eagles albums from 1972-78 in HD ? What is the sound quality like? HDTracks are selling this box set as high quality 192 hz/24 bit FLAC files. Any experience with this vendor?

Thanks.

HD Tracks got off to a bit of a shaky start with some apparently upsampled releases, rather than true Hi Def. They seem to have cleaned up their act. I've had no problems with them from a transactional perspective (they haven't stolen my CC details and or anything like that).

My system (and ears) doesn't discern any real benefit of higher definition audio, though. CD-quality is plenty good enough for me. But I'm increasingly loving the instant gratification of downloads.

RE : Eagles in 192hz/24bit

Just bitten the bullet and bought all the Studio albums 1970-1979 from HD Tracks as 192/24. Re-mastered by Bernie Grundman Studios using their techniques, some interesting web chatter.

It seems the 192/24 are intact only 192/18, due to the techniques used 6 bits contain irrelevant information, it has opened quite a debate about what is 'true' 24bits with ADC, DDC etc.

The complete downloads were on offer so I went for them anyway as I have zero Eagles in my collection so this is a first time purchase of any of their recordings so looking forward to discovering the songs I don't know as well in the whole collection.

Downloading now so should be playing some a little later.

Thanks

May be a tired question, but how do you download from HDTracks if you have to give a UK address?

I just re-registered now with a UK address and ordered through PayPal, zero issues all went through perfectly.

When the address section came up for me to fill in it already had me located as the UK in the drop down list, so my IP UK address was recognised and caused no issues, well for this purchase just now it did.
