Not too good a start with what had happened to Schumy.
There is also even sadder news with the announcement of engine builder Brian Harts passing.

Sorry to spoil all the drooling over the good old days when cars were truly more beautiful than the eye candy on the start grid.
McLaren have appointed former Lotus team principal Eric Boullier as their new racing director.
Ron Dennis explained how Boullier’s appointment was part of a wider strategy "............. In due course we’ll announce the identity of McLaren Racing’s new Chief Executive Officer, who’ll report to me, and to whom Eric will report".
No mention of Martin Whitmarsh.
McLaren/Button headed the fastest times at the Jerez testing today.
........ ........... can you blame him ??? !!!
After watching the Bulls rear ends disappearing for the last few seasons, it must be real sweet to see them "having a McLaren"
All Renault clients seem to have serious problems but of course the major attenion is in Red Bull. Somehow I still believe though that when it is time to share the grid postitions for the first race of the season they will be strong again.
Red Bull have pulled out of the Jerez test this morning
Ricciardo ran only 7 laps, reported mechanical issue.
Christian Horner has said its numerous Renault & chassis cooling issues.
This means Red Bull have run only 21 laps over all 4 days !!!! Apart from not capturing any positive data & going home with more questions than answers, it (IMO) brings into question the point of these testing restrictions policy. It probably means they will not be able to verify at least some of the issues before going to the Bahrain tests.
Then the have just 8 days of more testing, all in Bahrain, the 1st 4 days is 19-22 Feb.
The 1st race in Australia is 14 March !!!!
Agree on the bounce back. Renault is no stranger to building great GP engines and RB are a great team managerally and technically. Oh, and then there's that driving talent thing.
If I were Ferrari I would rather not enter the championship than field such a monstrosity.
+1 molto,molto,molto brutta!Maybe it's fast...
What the hell is doing a Fiat 124 in that holy place?
"It looks like there is going to be a tweak to qualifying this year, to prevent the scenario of some teams not running in the top 10 shoot-out in order to save tyres for the race. F1's strategy group - the new rule-making body, effectively - has proposed that those in Q3, as it is called, get an extra set of 'option' tyres for use only in that session.
"Drivers will now have to start the race on the set of tyres on which they set their best time in the second part of qualifying. The teams' sporting directors were asked if there were any major problems with the idea and when they met on Friday they agreed that while they had a couple of minor comments, there were no big issues and it would do what was intended. So expect that to be formally adopted as a rule at the next strategy group meeting on Friday."
Wow, some common sense prevailing?

I'm sure normal service will be restored soon!
