Interesting new music-server and player...Daphile.

This Daphile looks interesting? Has anyone tried it?
No, but does look interesting. Seems like Vortex Box - which also uses squeeze server.
Very unclear who is behind it…no reason to be suspicious, but just odd they don't mentioning anything.
Just looked - there's a large thread on Computer Audiophile about it. Not sure I can link directly, but easy to find.
Cheers mutterback, will check out Computer audiophile. The web site seems a bit vague but it does look as if it may have the program might have some merit!

NB - I think this .iso will erase anything on the computer you put it on. They don't say that explicitly, but this kind of thing usually does that!
Or you can run it by booting from a USB stick with the ISO which preserves what is on the PC; allowing you to try it out.
I played with it during last weekend.
First impression is on positive side, but i need to test it more.
The most important thing is that SQ is in pair with MQn, or as good as I could hear on V1 so far.
The concept is interesting too, but I need to make sure that all the features are there to what I like.
No issues with the control of player. Very slick through internet browser or smartphone app.
Good to hear. I'm into a better control point. Currently using bubble UPNP, which I don't like.
How did you implement it (old PC, etc)

This was only to test it, and if I decide to go this route I will buy a dedicated small PC to play music of.
So, I installed Daphile to a 4GB USB stick, and boot one laptop up with it. My backup music library is on that laptop, so I connected it to Daphile. This laptop was connected by Ethernet to home network.
Second laptop with WiFi connection was used to run GoogleChrome to set Daphile up and to play music. Not that difficult, and developer is very responsive to help.
