How to clear n-Stream's cache

Posted by: gsh on 11 January 2014

Hi,

I updated a playlist (m3u created with iTunes) on my Lacie Wireless Space NAS but n-Stream and UnitiQute see an play the former version. Deleting the UPnP cache did not help. My Sonos system in the kitchen has no problem to see and play the updated list after updating it's library. Same sometimes with changes in Metadata (for example changing album name) and replacing the files on the NAS: n-Stream does not recognize the changes until I delete old files and save the newly on the NAS. Also problems with track list in n-Stream. Often shows no or incorrect album art. When playing a title with wrong image in the list the "play" screen shows nothing.

Would be nice to hear some hints.

Just found that n-Stream also does not see the new Albums that came with the updated playlist.

You need to get your UPNP Server on the Lacie to rescan. Sonos works differently as it just looks at the folder structure and you have rescanned this separately In the Sonos software.

Once you have rescanned, I would clear the UPNP cache and image cache in nStream as it sounds like things have got a bit muddled.

Thank you very much! Just fighting with LaCie setup after resetting the device.

Not at all. Still fighting with the LaCie.

Eventually I managed to reset and reconfigure the LaCie Wireless Space. The Setup program seems not to be compatible with Mac OS Mavericks. Tried it on a Windows machine and it worked.

But: No progress with n-Stream. Now I cannot see my playlists anymore and the Albums that I missed before are missing again. BTW can someone tell me how the folder display in n-Stream works? Cannot see the missing albums in Folder either.

Jota,

Thanks for your input.

The world is full of miracles! From one hour to the next things are getting better and better and

n-Stream is going to see more and more of what is really on the WirelessSpace. I don't know what's happening. I switched off the FTP server. I streamed the music from the WirelessSpace via iTunes on my Laptop, I let Sonos read the WirelessSpace once more. Obviously one or more ore none of these activities made the LaCie UPnP server present additional files. But my new playlist (exported from iTunes to the WirelessSpace) shows 204 entries in iTunes but only 155 in n-Stream because there are some albums it does not see yet.

So I will wait and see.
