Nait 2 Streaming
Posted by: CMM on 14 January 2014
I have been enjoying streaming internet radio in my office using a Qute. I have an original CB Nait 2 that I would like to use in my kitchen/living room and use with AVI Neutron speakers and am looking for a simple inexpensive way to stream internet radio, MOG Radio, and access my music files. Any suggestions?

Sonos springs to mind, or if you don't mind a bit of fiddling a second hand squeezebox touch (they aren't made any more so second hand is your only option)

I also just purchased a Synology 213+ NAS and will be storing my music there, if that makes any difference.

Maybe just sell the Nait and get another Qute. It would be neater and you'd have remote control. Not to mention the life-changing Party Mode.

Hungryhalibut - I thought of doing just what you suggested but the Nait 2 is hard to part with. It was my first Naim purchase and really changed my direction in audio equipment and it sounds so good. Maybe sell my Nait CD 3.5 and 5X and go streaming exclusively?

It's made for a Squeezebox Touch. A wonderful piece of kit with a more than half decent DAC.
set up Logitech Server on your synology NAS and away you go.

What system are you trying to integrate streaming into? You profile mentions a CD5x, 122, flatcap and 250. Is the Nait a third system?

Yes, this would be third system for music on main living floor. I have an office and family/TV room system in the basement. Too much I know.

I don't know about squeezeboxes, but from what others have said, it sounds like the way to go for a simple system built around the Nait. I'd still get a Qute though.
