I need to choose a wedding ring....

I am not a jewelry wearer, but time has come to choose a wedding ring. Really want something a little different than a plain platinum band.
Anyone have any suggestions? I have no idea where to start!

Different from a design or material point of view? I friend has a wedding band made from titanium that appears to be machined, very technical and clean looking but not garish.
Another friend has white Welsh gold for his ring, though that's not a cheap option.....

Start at a good small independent Jeweller/Jewellery Designer. Mens rings are now more varied and interesting.
I have a silver ring, it is a plain band but has a rustic look because it is deliberately sl uneven thickness/width etc. I hated every wedding ring I saw when we were engaged and refused one for 15 years of marriage but age 40 I suddenly decided I'd like a ring and this was simple but different enough to float my boat. It also wears rather pleasingly, making it look 'lived-in' which I like.

Cartier rolling ring of three colors of gold. His and hers. Different variations. Try to visit a Cartier store if you can.

Mine is tungsten-carbide ring. They are cheap as chips. Got mine from Amazon for about $30. Very clean, modern design, utterly scratch-proof (close to diamond hardness) and precision formed. Flawless, different and classy (unless you think high price is necessary for "class"). They don't scratch or corrode. Ever.

Just make sure you get a one which is hopefully non-allergenic. I lost my original wedding ring way back in 1974. I'd taken it off to do an epidural, and must have left it in my scrubs. Never saw it again. I bought what looked like an identical replacement, but it rapidly caused severe skin irritation and is never worn.
Suppose I could buy another, but after 37 years ...
