New system advice

I've had a uniti for a while now and feel its time to upgrade. I find that at times I get tired of the presentation from the uniti especially with cd and as yet haven't gone down the streaming route although I use the iradio a lot. I'm off to try a 200 with the uniti but wonder if I should look at a superuniti or even a separate pre and power and suitable source. I guess this is a long term project and so I can't justifiably leap all the way in one go but would be grateful of any advice to help me and also try and remove dead ends for upgrades. I am more than likely going to go down the second hand route for some of this also.

I tried out both a Uniti and its super sibling, and went for the latter, as it's much better. A dealer from whom I have great respect told me once that the Uniti is far better sounding from a streaming source than playing CDs, as the cd section is quite basic. So if I were you I'd pop all the CDs on a NAS and try that. if the cd sound is not doing it for you, I can't see how adding a power amp will improve matters. It may even do the opposite.

Thanks for that when I go on Friday I'll get some stuff streamed to the uniti also so I can get a feel for that side of things.

If the Uniti has a USB slot you could always copy some ripped music onto a USB key and try it out that way. It will at least give you an idea with the minimum of effort.
