N-Stream does not see all UPnP servers

Posted by: pgmvveld on 06 February 2014

Hello,

Does anybody recognizes the following issue or knows a solution?

I have a Uniti-2 which is wire-connected to my modem/router.

My Synology NAS also is connected wired to the router as well as my PC running Twonky.

The display of the Uniti-2 shows in Streamer mode the Synology and Twonky as UPnP-servers, which is as expected.

However the N-Stream application on the iPad/iPhone only shows Twonky as UPnP-server (obviously connected via WiFi to the same router).

Does anybody have a suggestion why the Synology does not show on the mobile devices while it does show on the Uniti-2 itself?

Thanks, Peter.

Does switching the UPnP compatibility mode in N-Stream setup make any difference?

Yes it does. When I switch to the compatibility mode the Synology is visible in N-stream too.

At that time no playlists and volume control anymore.

Funnily enough, when I switch off the compatibility mode again, the Synology UPnP server shows as well (after a few minutes).

Any idea what causes this kind of behaviour?

Thanks, Peter.

Sorry, I've no idea.  I have a Synology DS213+ NAS and the N-Stream app saw it right away without having to use compatibility mode.  Perhaps an email to support might be an idea if you don't get answers here.
