Erm...Should we start a new footie thread?

Seeing as the original has been hijacked, taken down and given a good beating it seems...
Let's start again for the season shall we?
Anyone fancy Man Utd to defend the title?
Good idea Jamie. It's a pity the other thread went the way it did. It certainly deserved to be in the Padded Cell.
Man Utd for the title? Nah, they're too far back, but Chelsea are faring very well under the Special One. I think he should have a name change to Psycho though as he very successfully plays the psychological game.
Steve
I suppose we'd better J.
Went to my first away game of the season yesterday, at Villa Park, a ground of which I am rather fond (although the weather was appalling). We weren't expecting to get anything better than a draw so a 2-0 win was a huge boost.
Nolan - who's now fully redeemed himself - was superb, as were Collins and Tomkins in defence, soaking up a sustained attack from Villa in the second half.
Good team spirit is evident, and we are now up to the giddy heights of 15th, although I still think - regardless of whether we are relegated or not - Hippo Head must go at the end of the season.
Man U won't get anywhere near the title, although they have an outside chance of getting into the Top Four.
I think this Premiership season is the best there's ever been. Any number of teams could nab a CL place, and 10 teams are caught in a relegation scrap. It's really difficult to predict anything - City are no longer invincible, Liverpool are rampant, Arsenal are wobbling but hanging on, Chelsea are improving and playing some brilliant tactics, Hull are surprising everyone, Palace and Sunderland have performed amazing turnarounds, Man U are still dangerous but a shadow of their former selves (who'd have predicted that nobody is now scared of the former big beats of the PL playground?), Everton are a tasty prospect.
The only thing one can predict with certainty is that a) Fulham will go down (sorry Mista) and b) Spuds are deluded and will get nowt - again.
I think the titles Chelsea's with man city a close second, as for the mighty hammers I can see us escaping the drop, but sorry to say Kevin I don't think the fat mans going anywhere....talking of the spuds I was deleting programmes from the TiVo box when I came across our 2-1 league cup win, so sat down and watch with great pleasure as once again those beloved spuds fans went home crying
As the original is back - just pruned back a bit - I'l close this one.
