Troubles with network and a ND5XS

Posted by: lormar on 12 February 2014

i am not a digital native. I know, but it seems impossible  to get a good connection to my  wireless network. i had a PC, an iPad and a WD NAS.My ND5XS lose connection many times in an evening. Some times it is even difficult to get connected to network and i have to try, switching on and off, many Times. In the same network a Cocktail X10 has a solid rock connection. I have tried a network wireless extender with no results.what can i try? Wired connection at the moment is not an option. Thank you, i' m quite up set with my naim

You could try to setup a bridged connection and connect your ND5 via wired connection to the bridge.

that would require two WiFi access points, one of which would go into bridge mode and the other would be the proper access point. Those two devices (best of same brand and type) would maintaun the wireless connection and your ND5 can use the stable wired connection to the bridge.

if you say other devices can maintain a stable WiFi than it appears to be the combination of ND5 and your current access point don't like each other very much.

success

cheers

Maybe i could upgrade my modem/router. does anybody have a suggestion for a modem/router that is powerful and well matched with ND5XS?

Hard to know without knowing your current router.

long and short is wireless is not a good solution for music.

It's a modem/router included in the internet provider package. I don't even know the model  or the brand

Then yes  any thing else will be better, but as I said everything on wireless will continue to give you issues. At the very least get the nas connected to the router.

Draytec do good mode /routers.

avoid belkin and check out smallnetbuilder for the latest model reviews.
