nStream track title with artist on various artists comps

So just got a used iPad 1 to replace my old iPhone 3 for dedicated to nStream. And wow does it sound better! A whole box upgrade at least.

Anyway I was really hoping that on various artists albums it would show both the title and artist on the album playlist. It does for a few but more often just the title. Is there any way to make this happen that I'm missing? Is there a particular way it needs to be tagged? Or something changed with the DLNA server? I'm using Logitech Media Server from my Vortexbox and Bliss to organize and Metadatics to tag.

And unfortunately on many comps Rovi just brings up something wacko so can't even go into that to see who the artist is. It is a better experience on the iPad, just not any different as far as the info it shows.

A few things that I think are awkward and could use changing:

Bigger volume bar, and it would be better imo if the volume and play controls were at the bottom vs the top but not that big a deal.

Option of Grid or List view for each directory that sticks with that directory (i.e. I prefer grid view for albums and list view for artists).

And a sidebar of directories would be great so one doesn't have to constantly navigate backwards to get to another directory.

Otherwise it's a pretty fun (a lot more so on the iPad).

I agree that nStream on the iPad is brilliant. As regards the issue with Various Artists albums I do not believe there is a solution. I get round this by editing the track details to include the artist.

Thanks Gerry. Yeah, it's very strange, as even among multi-disc comps some will show the title/artist and others not. I'll have to do a bit of research and see what the exact differences between the two are.

Have a look at how the tracks that display correctly are tagged & follow that method?

I use Mp3Tag with windows to sort mine...

I think this is down to how the UPNP server is configured (assuming nStream isn't set up to use compatibility mode).

I use minimserver and have it configured so that the tracklist always shows number, title and artist such as "1 - Take it Easy / Eagles, The"

I haven't found a way for this to just happen on Various Artists albums though

(I used to use Synology Media Server on my NAS and this also had an option to display the title/artist in the standard settings)

I haven't used Logitech, but imagine it has something similar in the settings somewhere

Hope this helps
