Grateful Dead on Mastermind!
Posted by: Pev on 24 February 2014
Last week on Mastermind (a UK tv quiz for people with an IQ greater than their shoe size) a contestant chose The Grateful Dead as his specialist subject round. He did well on that (12 right out of 14) but not so good on the general knowledge so won't be on again.
It's still available on line on the BBC iPlayer - I bet no one gets them all right!
I'll take that bet.
I can't run the program as I'm not in the UK... can you post the questions here?
Blimey, wish I'd had teachers who were into the Dead. Really chuffed - I got 11 right!

There were 14 and mostly very wordy but easy for a true Deadhead.
The one that no one I know of got was "What label was the Dead's single version of "Don't Ease Me In" issued on?"
That was the only one that stumped me but some had trouble with "What was the name of the band that Garcia and Weir were in in 1965?"
What was the other one you had trouble with Kevin?

The Warlocks?
I'd love to see the list too

Those two (I thought it was the Warlocks, rather than MMUJC, and I didn't get Scorpio Records) and the poster designer.

Warlocks were '66 - Mother Mcree's Uptown Jug Champions preceded them (the cd of MMUJC is very llistenable - tbh I only bought it for completeness but I often play it.
Aw shucks - I'd love to post it all but I'd have to transcribe it from the broadcast somehow and I'm a lazy git. The other questions were pretty tame - name of top ten hit off In The Dark, nickname of Ron Mckernan level stuff - but if you really bully me...
Well done Ken- great taste in music as well as tv!
(the poster designer q was along the lines of "who was co designer with Stanley Mouse of the Skull and Roses cover?"
