Music on USB sticks via nDac slowing down?

Has anyone else had this problem? I put on a stick to play whilst doing some jobs around the house and I've noticed replay slowing down before returning to speed. The USB stick has been played several times before without this happening.

Update, I just heard a noise a bit like bad mains hum, thankfully only a second or so the silence. I have tried another stick which seems fine. I rarely play these as I get such good results playing hi-res files and ripped cds from my MacBook but it's battery needed a charge!

I think it's most likely a fault with the stick but has anyone had a similar experience?

I've had music playing slowly off a memory stick into a Super Uniti.  Did not notice slowing down and speeding up - just slow.

Only tried it once to see if it worked - I think it was a high res file - and as it didn't I have not bothered trying again.

Thanks Nudger, rarely use sticks now as they cause clutter. Tried daughters iPod into the usb socket too as the nDac is Apple endorsed but it still sounded cr@p! Can't really see any point in the usb socket any more. Still, what it the nDac does with cds ripped to my MacBook and HR files has been well worth the investment.

Last night I copied an album from the Unitiserve onto a generic USB stick and it took the best part of 10 minutes. During playback, there were sharp popping noises and I discontinued playback immediately.

This morning, I copied two albums from the Unitiserve onto a high quality USB stick and it took less than 3 minutes. The playback now sounds fantastic ^_^

Not sure what you mean by clutter? I have all the cd tracks I ever want to listen to ripped in lossless FLAC on a 64gb stick into a UQ2/252/300 and it sounds supurb..saves me having to bugger about with NAS drives, ethernet wiring, and the like. Sounds best on a Sandisk extreme pro though..

I don't have a streamer and you have to play tracks in order when using usb sticks direct to nDac, so I ended up with lots just for hi-res files and they're in a heap with a list in my old Ekos 2 box.
