Internet Radio - Naim's advantage
Posted by: minnow on 02 March 2014
Hello,
over the past few months as I have been exploring upgrade paths to my Qute, I am ashamed to say that I contemplated a move from Naim (after 12 years or so of continuous ownership), partly because of the expense of decent up-grades, deep frustration that Naim 'dropped its pants' on the price of the Qute not long after I purchased my 192 version, and resulting additional depreciation I am now confronted with, and the lack of a decent streaming option between the Qute and the SuperUniti without a CD player (why, oh why can't there be a something at the Unitilite or Uniti2 version?).
However, what has convinced me to stay loyal to the brand is the not just the sound and integration with my iDevices (e.g. plug n'play iPhone/iPad) but the absolutely brilliant internet radio integration.
Tonight we have spent another fantastic night listening to Radio Paradise, including Naim's own channel, Radio Deluxe, etc.
It sounds superb via our Epos ES11s (how can I better these????) and our minds and ears are continuously surprised and delighted by the playlists that somehow always transition near perfectly from one song to the next.
So, despite my grumps, well done Paul and the crew.
