NDX Reference Manual?

Posted by: gtiboy on 04 March 2014

Does anyone know when purchasing a new NDX, does it come with the reference manual?

Sure, it will come with a manual. Why do you ask this question?

I have the quick start manual, but not the reference manual, so can't remember if it only came with the quick start only

I only got the 'Quick Start' with my ND5XS if that is any guide.

My ND5 came with the Quick Start guide plus a booklet titled "Statutory and Generic Information" which comes with all Naim equipment and is not specific to any particular piece of gear but has general info e.g. Mains/running in/leaving powered on etc.

My SuperUniti came with an excellent Italian cookbook.

Mine also came without the reference manual. However, you can download it from the Naim website: http://www.naimaudio.com/hifi-products/ndx

For some reason it keeps on crashing the Good Reader app on my iPad, so I'll need to print it out to be able to read it...

Crashes my iPad a few pages in too. Other manuals OK.

I have also wondered the same and when I check wth Naim, they confirm that the streamer products only comes with a quickstart guide. Perhaps they are thinking people who buy streamers are tech savy enough to download a copy on their own? ;-)

From the posts, I'm guessing that there would never be a manual long enough or up to data enough to take into account all of the variables, first and foremost everyone's specific home network. I think a good wiki would go a long way.  meanwhile, seems we're happy to provide free support on the forum ;-)

Secondly, it seems as if the dealer network is doing a poor job helping people set up. we may just get the exceptions, but there's a lot of people who write "I just got my [streaming device] and don't know what to do / how to play files."
