Hi Magnus,
As to Q1 -- yes, you can chose to rip to wav or flac, and can convert the wav in your current store to flac. This ability is built into the latest edition of the Naim server software.
Q1 as Bart said, yes. In Desktop client, under System Settings, Ripping\encoding tab, you can chose the format to rip into. If you can't find these settings, maybe this is the answer to you second question as well: update your DeskTop Client.
Q2. at the bottom right corner of the Desk Top Client do you have a red or a green dot?
if a red dot click File and Connect, in the pop up window, click ''Scan for Naim Hard disk player'' wait 30 seconds and your UnitiServe should show up. Double click on it et voila, you should see your albums under Library.
If you have the green dot, download the latest version of the Desk Top Client from the Naim Website. erase your current version and install (re-install) this latest version.
Hi guys
and thank you for rapid awnser. But still regarding Q2.... the dot is green, id tried with disconect and conect back again.......but non of the shares am i able to click on. Not even the + mark in front of the shares.
And it is in play mode not rip mode.
Regarding Q1... i have set the choice to flac....so that the new rips is in flac, but i still doesnt see how i shall convert the earlier rips from wav to flac.
What is the current version of DTC? The naim website for theese clients are down and have so for the biggest part of today.

Btw , my currentSystem version on the Unitiserve is 1.7a_sp1
And like i said above the DTC verison is vers. 4.0.14.1175
Are theese the latest?
In the DTC, right click on the album you want and select encode to FLAC (or it might be convert to FLAC, I can't remember. You can do the whole lot at once by right clicking on the all albums. Converting 2,000 albums takes about four days. Once converted, select transcode and the serve will convert to WAV for playback.

1.7a is the latest, and that zip download I think included the latest DTC too.
You should be able to right-click on an album and ask the server to encode it to flac.
