Qobuz... Good isn't it?

If have just subscribed to the Hidef trial on Qobuz. I am streaming FLAC over the internet via the Qobuz app on my iPad into AppleTV and via TOSLINK into my NDAC/555PS.
Its superb... Actually not so different sounding than my streamed CDs via my NDX. I notice the eq appears slightly different with some albums on Qobuz in a positive way.
I am very very impressed.

Ok being critical, there is a slight loss of detail and slightly veiled... But that could be the AppleTV... Or it could be from the re masters or both.. They sound slightly to fairly more compressed, you notice some slight pumping on some tracks. I wonder if these are the masters for the encoders of the MP3/AAC download sites?
But it's so close, and light years away from AAC, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis.

I've just signed up for a Quobuz trial today and am also very impressed. At the moment I am just using their player and a direct optical connection from PC to Superuniti. It sounds excellent - at least as good as the equivalent rip so the veiling could be the Apple TV.
I was prompted to sign up for it by the heads up in the music room about the complete Doors studio albums in 24/96 for £20 and thought I'd give the streaming a try as well. Need to play and explore more but it's better than I expected. I'm also really enjoying the Doors download - it's the first hi res I've heard that I like as music - plinky plonky jazz and classical sounds boring to me whatever it's played on!
Been using it for a couple of months now. Squeezebox Touch into NDS. Not as comprehensive as Spotify but sounds very good. All controlled from iPad too. NStream and iPeng.
Hi, yes it tried Spotify, and the UI is great and it's easier to explore around different artists than Qobuz, but it sounds.. Well mediocre.. I am afraid on quality audio equipment 320kbps Ogg Vorbis just doesn't cut it. The FLAC streaming on Oobuz is soo much better... and for me enjoying recorded music as it should be is what it's all about.

Seriously impressed now - it's streaming Lick My Decals Off Baby by Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band. Bliss....
Update - the tracks on this album are chopped short - evidently the rights holders will only allow limited streaming though it's available to buy - is this common on Quobuz?
I trialled Quobuz for 2 days a few weeks back, but cancelled due to limited library, I only found 2 albums out of 10 attempts. Sound Quality was excellent far superior to Spotify which I find poor and use solely to try out albums before purchase. Hopefully the library on Qobuz will improve in the future.

Haven't looked back since moving on from Spotify. The sound quality is so much better. The service itself is a bit eccentric but am sure that will get sorted over time. I don't think many people realise Spotify is P2P based either.
Main use of Qobuz has been with phones on the move.
In fact, that is the main way of listening to music at the moment so Naim isn't really getting a look in. Perhaps their new multi-room streaming thingy will give me a reason to change that balance.
