So what has happened to NaimNet

Naimnet has disappeared from the website so I guess it is not the way forward with Naim anymore, very disappointing for those of us who invested in it.

I think NaimNet was an early attempt at what many of us are doing with their HDX, streamers, etc.  The technology surpassed the concept very quickly.  Like most things computer!

USB is still going!

Naimnet-like functionality is now available in all Uniti and network player products:

Multiroom and Party Mode allow you to play music in every corner of your home in perfect sync. Simply select ‘Rooms’ from the set up menu via the front panel or remote handset or use your n-Stream app (version 3.3 required) to select any of your compatible players as the master. It will then stream music from its UPnP, USB/iPod or iRadio inputs over your home network to up to four clients in other rooms, enabling master volume control and selection in the process.

ATB.

NaimNet is a different world.  Not unlike Naim For Bentley.

Hi Milfs, so you do exist

i asked a similar question a little while back and there was some interesting responses.

it seems perhaps they did not sell well, but it is interesting to see some people going for a second hand approach.

The StreamNet technology on which NaimNet products are based is still alive and well, though it should be pointed out that it is (as Phil Harris has mentioned) oriented toward professional installation, rather than self-installation by the end consumer (as with Uniti / NDx-series products).  It is quite popular within the commercial custom integration space, especially as the underlying infrastructure for real-time videoconferencing and video / audio distribution.

Hi Jason  yes I am a real person

as a NaimNet owner with only 3 music zones I guess that if the multi room system that is available now existed when I purchased my system I would have taken a different road. Although the NaimNet system works ok the app that controls it is pretty poor and hardly ever updated. The enjoyment I get listening to my local system. NDS 252. 300 and S400s far outweighs any quality the NaimNet system is able to achieve.
