Post deleted?

Good afternoon,
A moment ago I was reading an interesting thread regarding a forum member having disposed of his naim and suggesting off shoring.
I moved engrossed to page 2, I received an error message, and now I cannot find the post. Has the post and thread been deleted? Or has my ISP moved to Turkey?
I love my naim and I rationally and irrationally have an aversion to offshoring.
All the best

The thread was was most likely deleted by the moderator. Perhaps the Op had questionable motives and it had gone off topic anyway and was focussing on the etymology of certain words and national stereotypes(...) , which although possibly interesting, a hifi forum is probably not the best place to explore and discuss such items
Probably best removed..
I can tell you it was 100 % deleted to the race related slurs.
A shame really because I myself find the pricing of Naim a becoming a bit too unpalatable. Especially with the 1st April 8 % increase in Ovators (really, Naim 8%.. ???)
I am deeply thankful to companies like Marantz which can make a Hi end streamer at a reasonable price, and also KEF for the R900 speakers, and even B&W for their speakers.
Sorry Naim, but that's the way I feel about these annual price increases.
Oh MangoMonkey you've mentioned the unmentionable. I'd get behind the sofa now.

The thread has been removed for review following complaints.
Though I did not complain, I certainly think the Forum is none the worse for this removal.
In my view bringing it back in any form would not be an improvement.
In a month it will not be remembered.

I'm not a fan of censorship. We have far to much of it in the US and there are much better ways for moderators to spend their time. People expose themselves with the statements they make here. Give them the opportunity to apologize for their offensive remarks. If not, they'll likely move on of their own accord as folks on this forum have little tolerance for such insensitivities and make that clear. If the behavior recurs, the offender can be suspended.

That's 29.9999 more days than it deserves!

Censorship has its place. If there is no habit of being offensive, the behaviour becomes abnormal, and thus it dies out. In the UK it is not legal to make racist comments verbally or in print, and as such it has gradually died out, except for some eccentrics who exceptionally [compared to the norm] persist.
As the owner of this Forum, Naim actually has the responsibility to remove such comments and doing so is to be applauded.

I agree - perhaps the racist posts could have been removed - although I can't remember reading any - just a questionable use of certain words by various posters - and the only one I took offence to had blanks inserted it anyway and was not cultural/ethnicity/race related - not the sort of language direct or indirect I would like to see or hear on a Sunday... does that make me sensitive - possibly.
If members complain about a post or thread then it is Naim's duty to respond as they see fit - usually it means the thread is moved to a safe room accessible only to admin where it is reviewed and any action taken. It may have posts moderated, or no action at all may result before being returned to the public rooms. In some cases a thread may be removed in its entirety.
A sensible policy: this forum is far more civilized than many others.
