I highly recommend its sibling product the DNS-321, which lacks superfluous features such as USB Printer Sharing but is quiet, even cheaper, and seems to be a slight bit faster using the NAS Simulation Utility.

have 2 2.5 HDD. Do you think Is it possible to install them inside a dns-321 or dns-323? maybe with a device that' trasforms' the 2.5 in a 3.5? Otherwise, there are some 2.5 enclosure that are compatible with a uniti?

Went with the DNS-323 - delivered for £52! Now, which 2 TB HDD's do I get? Seems about £60 per HDD is the going rate for WD Caviar Green or Samsung F4.

There are a variety of compliant mounts that can be obtained to mount 2.5" notebook hard drive mechanisms into a chassis designed for 3.5" drives.

I've heard 2.5" inch are quieter any truth in that?

Excuse my ignorance / lack of knowledge David, but why would 2.5" drives be better?Posted on: 03 March 2011 by DavidDever
I'm not sure they would be, aside from reduced mechanical vibration-the MTBF is much shorter.

OK, I'm looking for a DNS-323 because here (Italy) the 321 is impossible to find. What about the upnp server, does it provides dynamic playlists (last albums added, last album played...) ?
