FlowerPower Radio: Hits from the 60s and 70s, for those who have a few years on their shoulders and are not afraid of nostalgia: http://216.66.84.3:5050
RAI Auditorium: The RAI's Classical music channel, only Classical and many live concerts of the RAI's Radio Orchestras, no speech safe announcements: http://mediapolis.rai.it/relin...vlet.htm?cont=173832
Rete Toscana Classica: Private Classical music channel from the hills of Camaiore, good music and no speech safe announcements with good spelling of foreign names: mms://streaming.intoscana.it/wmtencoder/rtc.wma
KUT3: Good jazz. http://kut3.streamguys.net/
Happy listenings,
M.
It's a French commercial station so you have to put up with the occasional advert for cut price Camembert at your local Leclerc supermarket and meal deals at Flunch but they play some top tunes in the same vein as FIP.

(Location > Europe > France on a NaimUniti iRadio)
Grooveshark is pretty cool, and a bit unconventional.
In addition to their streams for different genres, there is also a search engine and playlist builder. It is 192kbps for free, and 320kbps for subscribers. Have been using the free feed at my desktop for the last couple of days, and it sounds pretty good.

PS - I am amazed by the number of music options we have these days. Vinyl, needle drops, high resolution downloads, CD's, rips, FM, digital radio, internet subscription services, and of course....internet radio. There is more music available than we could listen to in a dozen lifetimes. It is truly a wonderful time to be a music lover. And it is all just a wee bit overwhelming.
HardSalsa from New York-128Kbps
Excellent latin american salsa music station with no adverts (certainly none whilst i've been listening). Website not bad too.
Enjoy
BBC via iTunes is good stuff.

MountainChill sounds great - Peter, do you have a URL so I can add it to my stations in vtuner? I couldn't seem to find any info on the MountainChill.com site.
Thanks, Ian

Try the SomaFM Stations, especially Boot Liquor
I usually find something on ample.fm (http://ample.fm) depending on what I'm in the mood for.
MOG-it is simply awesome. Just type in which album or song, or band you wish to hear in 96 not 44.1.
Cool!... enjoying BellyUp4Blues but will try them all...
For classical, I'm a big fan of BBC Radio3 (www.bbc.co.uk/radio3), which archives most of its shows for a week on the site. The live stream is 320k, via iTunes (or on the site if you're in the UK)
2JJJ (Triple J) Sydney is a good one. It's the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) equivalent of BBC Radio 6 though FM and much older, opening with a banned number by Skyhooks in 1974 or 75. I grew up in Sydney and listened to it there. I have lived in London for many years now and enjoy tuning-in over the net. The day-for-night time difference means you can hear the surf report for the Sydney beaches while curling up with your cocoa.
I became a WNYC addict as I was living in New York. Now that I live 5026 miles away, it is still my favourite station, and not only for music!
Mainly listen to Radio Paradise. Great music and sound quality.
As an alternative I listen to DV.FM Lounge. German station playing smooth jazz.
Paradise on 320k. Working from home, it was recommended by friends and I was a bit sceptical at first. Fear not, it'll blow your mind away and remind you why you fell in love with music in the first place. Yes, RADIO! It's just a bit different.
Give it a try. You'll love it
