Music listening from Radio

Posted by: Stover on 20 April 2014

Beeing a classical music listener from radio only, the last years (norwegian NRK Classical) I have discovered Radio Paradise. I use these two stations quite often now. It`s a very fine way of discovering new music, artist´s that I have overseen totally. By using the playlist function I note down the artist and then use Spotify to do further listening. Natalie Merchant is one example, or JJ. Cale......or even The Cinematic Orchestra

How will I connect to music in the future? I think continuation of buying cd`s firstly, but hopefully we will se a Spotify connection from Naim streamers in the near future as well.

Steinar,

Since you obviously have a computer, you can access any number of stations from around the world via the internet.  Some connections are good, some not so great, some with commercials, others without.  Just google internet radio and start exploring.

Or pickup a streamer and explore that way.

When you hear something you like you can still get the hi-res version from spotify or other source.

Exactly, that`s what I did  I use Naim NDS and the internet radio option and I love it. My point is I have now found a new way of discovering-/ explore music. For me, listening to radio had little interest due to all the nonsense talking, but with radio Paradise it`s something else.

That again, makes me think how to purchase more music in the future and so far cd comes to my mind.

Right now I listen to radio NRK Classical, a "film music" program. Wonderful.
