Hi all,

 

long time voyeur, first post...

I had some B&W CM10 and when I saw a second hand SU I couldn't resist...

This is my first real hifi set and I'm very impressed!!

I managed to improve the sound big time by playing with the acoustics of my listening room (5m * 10m): curtains, positioning the speakers and stuff like that.

Now planning to add NACA5 and a powerline... Yep, the upgraditis bug got me!

 

I'm thinking of adding a 250.2, and maybe later on a 282 and eventually swapping the SU for a NDX...  Who said the SU wasn't upgradable?

 

But before I start looking at 250.2's I would like to have some advice concerning the next 2 items...

 

1/ one of the big advantages of SU is the nStream app.  Will I be able to use it with the 250/282/NDX to change the volume and the inputs on the 282?

2/ does NDX plays ALAC from a Synology NAS? SU does, but I read that NDX only plays ALAC via the USB on the front panel...

2.  Yes but you should only play wav for best sound.

Kevin, thank you for your clear answers, I'll rip my next purchase in WAV, let's see if I hear the difference...

 

Concerning the upgrade path, I think I'm gonna postpone it a little bit.  Today my new NACA5 arrived and boy, what a difference!!! (previous cable wire world solstice 7).  Soundstage (or 'imaging' if you prefer it that a way ;o) is much larger and the overall sound is much 'snappier'.  Since I don't speak english, it's difficult to find a good description, but it's like i bought a BMW 3 coupé and all this time I was driving on a snowy underground...  

 

I think my upgraditis is cured...  (at least for some months!) (or maybe after I tried a Powerline ;o)

Apparently you can stream ALAC from a NAS to the NDX, but for some reason I couldn't..!! Still don't know why not ..

I guess it depends on the software you're running on the NAS...
