Why can I see red / green / blue spots on back-projected image?

I frequently see the constituent colours especially in fast motion across the screen in adjacent blocks of red/green/blue. I know that the image is made up of these colours, but other people watching the movie don't see this. We use an HD projector which projects from behind the screen. What's wrong with my eyes?!

It's called the Rainbow Effect Loki, and a fairly common phenomenon with certain DLP projectors.

I appear to be immune but another forum member noticed the same thing occurring with my SIM2 projector on occasion.

Thanks Tony. Anything I can do?

I think its more noticeable if you're sitting off-centre; maybe changing your viewing position might help.

Later types of DLP projectors aren't so prone to this either.

Ours is an Optoma bought November 2012.

I usually sit dead centre!
