No network on Unitiqute

Posted by: Accipiter on 16 May 2014

That's the message I get when trying to play music stored on my computer, via an iPad and N stream.

On the iPad the message is "Streamer not responding".  It worked fine until a week or so ago.  Is it just that the NAS drive with the music on is too far away from the Unitiqute ?  ( It hasn't been moved, and as I say, it always used to work fine).   The internet Radio works fine, as does the internet connection on the computer.

any suggestions as to possible causes and cures would be welcome.

I had the same issue about a week ago, weird as nothing has been changed my end. I had to rescan my library before it would work again. I am using a Asset upnp.

You have some conflicting statements going on. Is the music coming from your computer or the nas?

IS the nas just a store and the computer the UPNP server?

Is every thing wired or wireless and have you assigned address for the NAS?

The music is stored on the NAS,  the computer is the UPNP server. It is wireless and there is an assigned address for the NAS.

It is working fine at the moment (  mid -day ) but in the evening it behaves as I've described.

Hi,

are you using a BT home hub?  If you search the forum you will this issue discussed previously.

i cannot remember the details but I think the hub was implicated.

David,

Thanks very much for this, I do use a BT hub. I'll try searching the forum again.

Thanks

Accipiter,

The 'no streamer found' or 'streamer not responding' message seems to be something that a group of us are getting. My UQ was also fine for 18 months, and then connection problems began. Internet radio strangeness as well. It happens for many of us outside the range of Brit Telecom, so the hub may or may not be your issue. For me, using the wrench symbol on the remote to fuss with things can make the UQ come back to life, or, failing that, powering it on and off makes things work again. A pain, but it works.

I've been experiencing the same issues using a Sky router.

Now I have installed powerline and connect over ethernet and I no longer have any connection issues.

The issues with internet radio were at the Naim end and seem to be resolved now.

Ethernet over mains is the work of the devil. Can you not run a cable?
