FIFA World Cup 2014

Atletico Madrid win La Liga and Arsenal sneak the FA Cup. Citeh's money taints the Premiership - sadly.

So who is going to win the FIFA World Cup (sponsored by McDonalds). Is Suarez is going be the top scorer - or would he fail to score with Jordan? Eddie that is

Well it's being held in Brazil - the smell up coffee and wake - imho - what do you guys think?

As a penalty taker perhaps - no other logically conceivable reason - unless Brenda "fancies" him of course - OMG that is a possibility

What a stunner.

No argument there, ewemon, but what about a prediction on the game?

Brazil 2-0

US beat a pretty decent Nigerian team 2-1 in their 3rd and final friendly, with only a penalty kick in minute 85 from Victor Moses to spoil Tim Howard's 100th game.  First time the US has won all three friendlies going into a World Cup, and this was a strong effort.

Two obvious difference makers from the last match versus Turkey.  Kyle Beckerman looked very strong as a holding midfielder, and despite a few errant passes, IMO he should get the start against Ghana.  And, of course, welcome back Jozy!  His second goal was a classic example of controlling a pass and beating your marker.  He looks ready to go on a run, just like he did last summer...and just in time!  And yes Sunderland fans, I don't get it either. It's a funny game...

This could have easily been 4-1 or 5-2, as US counter-attacks consistently broke down the Nigerian defense. The game was played in hot, humid conditions, and the US showed excellent energy and stamina. If they can play like this in nine days, they'll beat Ghana and have a lot of confidence going into the Portugal match. No doubt Klinsmann will show them the 2002 tape for inspiration!

ATB.

PS - Brazil over Croatia, 1-0.

Dear Chris,

In your view how far will England get in this World Cup?

Do you think it will be embarrassing, or will there be a reasonable effort?

Qatar 2022: Sepp Blatter says corruption claims are racist

Fifa president Sepp Blatter claims allegations surrounding the Qatar 2022 World Cup bid are motivated by racism.

Qatar was chosen as host in December 2010 but corruption claims have prompted Fifa to begin an inquiry.

"There is a sort of storm against Fifa relating to the Qatar World Cup," Blatter said. "Sadly there's a great deal of discrimination and racism."

Fifa will rule on the validity of the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in September or October. At that point, the president of football's world governing body said, the "matter will be closed".

Is there no end to that man's (and Fifa's) BS? I mean really...They're going to have their own meeting at which they will decide they did nothing wrong and then instruct the rest of the world to carry on and not bother them again. Time to take them out and have them shot I think...

I think that England will be difficult to beat but I wonder whether they will score many. England do need Rooney to "turn up" though.

Italy have not been hugely convincing recently and if Suarez isn't fit that will be a bog blow to Uruguay. I'm half expecting two draws then a win against Costa Rica - and that might be enough to go through.

If England do qualify for next stage logically they should win the next match but then go out in the quarter final.

As you started this World cup thread i think its your duty to post a DAILY picture of a Wag or young beauty up until the day of the Final.

Anything less will be deemed as failure on your part.

A picture of Fulhams best ever player bar none. I think this is a World cup game against Portugal back in the 60s.
