J.River Media Center 16 (New Version)

Posted by: Hot Rats on 17 February 2011

A heads-up for anyone who is using J.River Media Center ...

J.River Media Center 16 is now in beta format and available through the Interact forum on the J.River website (Look under J.River Media Center 15 for details)

Version 16 installs easily and automatically imports playlists from Version 15. I installed it this evening and it appears to work fine, although I will keep Version 15 installed until Version 16 comes out of beta and into final version.

If you purchase a licence for Version 16 before 28/02/11 you can get it at a reduced price of $18 (Just over £10) instead of the full upgrade price of $28.

FYI,

If you liked "Play as Radio" it is now replaced (not for long hopefully) by "Play Doctor".  Play Doctor can incorporate streamed songs from Last.FM if you have a subscription.  I have no desire nor need for this feature.  And it is unable to "learn" via skipped tracks as Radio did.

I was able to beta MC16 for free since its inception (it is now public), and i cant find any reasons to upgrade.  I went back to 15.

If you already own 15 I would wait a sec.

2 cents,
Patrick
