Downloaded Radiohead's new album, now what...?

Choice of MP3 or WAV files. Went for the latter. Downloaded fine. Plays on Mac fine. But when placed in one of my NAS music stores, the HDX doesn't see it. Have re-scanned music store. Still nothing. No obvious verboten characters in the track file names. Anyone got an idea?

For once I am glad I use a Mac DAC combo. Have you tried a USB stick to check that it recognises the file so you can eliminate that as a possible cause.
Computer music is way to complicated for such a simple task IMHO

Convert to flac using Max - test - then convert back to wav and test.

My Sonos couldn't 'see' the files after I copied the WAVs into my NAS music folder. I think it might have been to do with the metadata. WAV is a pain for metadata. I used Max to convert the files to AIFF, imported and labelled them up properly in ITunes and then copied them to my NAS. perfectly fine now.

Is the Music Store you are referring to a Naim one. If so you should avoid adding or delete files using an alternative computer system. An external download should be placed in a network share where the HDX will locate it and consolidate it within the music library.

Agree with DT79 - sounds like tagging issue -

GerryMcg is right
If OP does indeed mean Music Store, than you mustn't manually files to it, they won't be seen and you risk corruption when manually editing Music Stores.
Non-HDX ripped files should be put into Network Shares and HDX can be made to find them.

Same problem here - downloaded then unzipped to my Nas Music Store Radiohead folder but it does not show up. Plays fine through windows media player. Just tried copying to a memory stick - again not found by my HDX but fine via PC.
Anyone got any straight forward suggestions?

Firstly when you refer to your "Nas MusicStore" is this the the Naim designated "Music Store"? If so you should save it to a "Network Share" basically any other folder on your network, that you can assign from your HDX.Anyone got any straight forward suggestions?
When you say that the HDX cannot find the music file which interface are you using. It is possible that within your "music File "locations you are only accessing the "Music Store" - simple to change.
With regard to the USB stick - is the music file format one of AAC,FLAC,MP3 or WAV if not the HDX will not see it/

Hi,
Yes the Nas MusicStore is the Naim designated one where most of my music is stored. I have tried with both the Desktop Client and the web based interface but neither will find it. If I look at it with windows explorer it appears to have the same properties as (for example) other Radiohead albums and is in Wav file format.
Having copied it onto a memory stick as Wav files the HDX really should see it but it just shows that a memory stick is present but has no content. When I put the same stick into my PC I can play it through media player.
This seems all very strange to me and I can't help but think that DT79 is right, that there is something odd about the metadata.
All in all, I would have much preferred to spend my Saturday night listening to it rather than be sitting at the computer typing about it!

Hi Andy,
You must not rip, add, delete or edit files on the Naim "Music Store" using anything other than the HDX, it can result in corruption.
Try copying the file to a designated "Network Share" and your HDX should find it no trouble.
Not certain about the USB what is the File Format?.

Thanks to all but no solution yet.
Yes - I meant that I had added the album to a Share and not the Store - typing error.
Tried converting album to FLAC.
Now the album is listed in the DTC but there are no tracks within.
Presume metadata issue but how to fix?

Ok - figured it out.
Used XLD to convert the WAVs to FLAC and unchecked the box 'preserve unknown metadata'.
Everything ok now...
