Naim HDX and Apple iTunes songs

Posted by: Salman on 20 February 2011

Hello everyone, I just heard a demo of the HDX at a local retailer and was quite impressed by the sound quality. Does anyone know if iTunes songs can be imported on HDX's hard drive? If yes, will the album artwork and all the information about each song be preserved on the HDX as well? Appreciate any feedback.

No.

And no.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. Here's another option which is quite tedious and time consuming (not to mention several CD-Rs used up: if I burn all the iTunes song to discs and then rip them onto HDX's hard drive, will that do the trick in terms of album art and song info?

Thanks

No–it is possible to share your iTunes Library on either Mac OS X or Windows XP / Vista / 7, but it is iTunes' lack of persistent cover art that prevents the HDX from displaying it.

In general, there are applications available to populate the iTunes Music folders with artwork, but my guess is that you'd likely rip CDs on the HDX instead of iTunes, which would obviate the need for this.
