I am in northern Australia, thousands of kilometers from my dealer, and hope the User Forum can assist me. I have a new UnitiServ and SuperUniti. Easy to set up, worked perfectly on FM, iRadio, ripping CDs and playback of same. SuperUniti is also outputting broadcast audio via PVR, Blu-ray audio, and so forth. All working as it should.
Then there was a mains power interruption. Next day, on the Unitiserv, I held down the Naim badge for 5 seconds, switched it off using switch on back panel, then on. It booted up promptly, as expected. It is playing away merrily by itself – and even ripping CDs. But the SuperUniti to which it is connected via Cat 6 V-cables to gigabit switch, (or Digital Optical TOSlink), can’t detect the server. The UPnP setting in the SuperUniti scans for an input, finds nothing there.
In the SuperUniti setup:
- UPnP is “Enabled”, Input Trim 0, “Server History: Yes”.
- UPnP screen on SuperUniti: “<No Servers>”
- “Searching”… then, again, <No Servers>.
- Predictably, the app controller on iPad Mini also says: “No server”.
Using n-Serve app on MacBook Air, can see normal interface for UnitiServ, with tracks listed and playing – but no audio getting through to SuperUniti, which cannot detect server. On Network Shares menu on n-Serv, “SuperUniti NSSRVDF13 \Downloads Active: Yes”.
I cannot find instructions re accessing “Factory Reset” menu, which may be of help; neither can I find instructions for inputting any settings on UnitiServ. I would appreciate help with reuniting UnitiServ and SuperUniti.

I thought it might have
have you tried restoring power in this order:
router
switch
Serve (and other storage)
SuperU and Mac
Wait a good 5mins between each power on step. If you think the SU might have been compromised, maybe disconnect the RJ45 and try to use the wireless function. You will need to dig out your wireless key and pop it in the SU via the Remote Control.
i wouldn't try factory reset just yet but it's section 4.12 in the manual.

My Superuniti often loses the network connection after a power interruption - I started a thread on this and it emerged that many SUs suffer from this and it's probably a poor implementation of the networking firmware in the SU.
Hafler's tip about powering down and up in a fixed order is worth trying and should work. If you look in network settings it should say if it is connected or not. I often have to retry to connect several times before it connects. Once it is hooked up it stays fine until the next power interruption.
This is either Naim's way of encouraging users to leave it powered up or they are nowhere near as good at software as they are at hardware...

I advise rebooting in another order, the router if it has a switch or if the network includes a switch needs to be introduced to the MAC addresses of the server/HDD & SU
Server
HDD if separate
SU
Router
Finally switch if you have a separate switch

Genius! I rebooted in Hafner's order, waiting for a steady light on modem, Airport Extreme/Time Capsule, gigabit router, UnitiServ (holding down until flashing stops, switch off/on, took a long time flashing before steady arrived, then SuperUniti. The soothing sounds of John Coltrane! BLISS! I will now pay close attention to the other respondents' advice. A thousand thanks! Feel less isolated knowing you're all out there. We have 240v. here. Can anyone recommend a particular surge protector? (Had custom-mades on our last Krell equipment, but costly.)
