"Connecting" - all the time

Posted by: Jonas Olofsson on 29 May 2014

Hi, Im searching the wizdom from my fellow Naimes here...

When using n-Stream with my NDS, there is something strange going on. If I change a song with the "jump forward", the n-Stream then says "connecting" and for several minutes its just "connecting", making jump forward/backward/Pause etc not working during that time.

The volume works though. It starts to be a little irritating....

Any ideas?

Have you tried clearing both UPnP & image cache's?

I occasionally have this issue. When it happens in my case it will only play one track and stop, even if I have selected 'play' against the whole album. I overcome it by turning the NDS off, wait a few seconds and turn back on. Then all is good.

I have often wondered what the 'Stay Connected' option in the setup menu does though. I have recently chosen this option to see if it prevents the issue mentioned above. We shall see!

Stay Connected "Off" allows the nStream to sleep after a time of inactivity.

"On" will use more battery power

Hi Mike, your advice worked, thank you!

Sorry I meant "enable".

Too many double negatives

Is the button Green = ON or White = OFF

If makes no difference really, its just that ON uses battery all the time that nStream is active

Me too.  I shouldn't, but I do.  I suspect it's some sort of network discovery issue . . . but no idea.  It's not as if anything reboots or changes IP addresses.  MAYBE some dhcp lease is being renewed and that's when this happens?? I really don't know.

It doesn't seem right, but it's reassuring not to be alone!
