Untiserve

hi I am new to the forum so please be patient Thanks I have now ripped my cd collectionto the unitiserve few problems with a few discs copying something. Else not the original cd but still most ok The next issue is backing up onto a nas The browser I have installed is fine but when I try to get a new share to put my hard drive onto it only shows the unitiserve I can not seem to find a way of doing this also the hard drive is shown on the system but all show red circles as if it is not connected offline ? Please can anyone help a pensioner with limited techno skills the nas drive is a Sinology Thanks Tom

This is the stage I found really hard, so you are not alone. Somewhere in the Knowledge base is a guide, written by Naim, of how to set up a Synology as backup. I suggest you read through that. It's hard to find, to if you cannot locate it, drop a line to Naim.

The key things are set up a new share, called something like musicbackup (no capitals or spaces) in the Synology, with full access to admin and guest. Then use the desktop client to promote the share to backup status.
