Best soundbase?

Hi all

Watching the blu-ray of The Grateful Dead Movie (which is renowned for its awesome sound quality) I was struck by just how rubbish the sound from my 32-in Samsung flat screen is (it is also really bad for speech).

I am thinking about getting a soundbase to stick under the telly (not interested in a speaker system, or soundbar, they are too intrusive). A friend of mine has a Bose soundbase, which is very neat looking and sounds OK, but for £350 I think I can do much better.

I've been looking at the Cambridge Audio Minx, or the Denon DHTT100, or, at a real push, the Canton DM 50. Anyone have any experiences with any of these, or any similar devices?

Essentially I'm looking for compactness and good sound for both dialogue and music. Absolute top of budget is £350.
