Tablet to control Unitiserve

Posted by: Tommis on 18 June 2014

Hi - I just purchased a second-hand Unitiserve with 1 TB harddisc, and intend to control it with a tablet. Should I choose a iPad or Android version? Regards Tommis

The nServe app will only run on an iDevice (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch).

As an alternative, you can control the UnitiServe using the Desktop Client software which runs Windows. So if you have a Windows tablet...

I now use a dedicatediPod Touch as a  remote in my listening room. Its always there for use when I need it, and it only needs infrequent recharge - important convenience factors. A personal iPhone might also provide similar convenience?

Also sometimes an iPad Mini which provides a more graphical interface ie album covers under the indexing rather than a list.  Useful for a large library and a richer browsing experience. However it gets used for other things, moves around and goes flat too frequently.

Def the IPad mini is the best toy for using any control app, or at least the minimum, in my experience, well worth the investment.

interesting you have a second hand U-Serve, do you know how the HD was wiped and by whome?
