Unitiserve downloaded files from HDtracks.com

I have a Unitiserve. I have been downloading Flac albums from Linn Records with no problems at all. However, HDtracks albums give me nothing but grief. About 2 out of every 5 I download do not show up  in N-Serve once I have dragged the downloaded album into the downloads folder. I am using an iMac and OS ver 10.7.5. I gather editing the Tags can sort this out, but I haven't clue where to start with that! Help…….

I might not be too helpful but maybe something helpful that fits your bill ......  I don't have a US, my storage is a straight NAS - Synology DS214.

I have downloaded a number of albums from HDTracks,  up to the last one they were all faultless, they arrive in the HDTracks download folder & drag & drop to NAS & show up correctly in all the nStream folder viewing options.

The last download was a “double” album with extra tracks & live performances. Problem is it’s not formatted correctly &  comes as a one “disc” download with the tracks on both “discs” listed as track 1,2,3 - the download had two track 1’s followed by two track 2’s track & two 3’s etc  ….. it would not show up by Artist or Album in the nStream viewing options,  it was only visible in Folder view,  but mixed up track numbers.

Using windows explorer (not sure what the eq is for iMAC) I made new folders called Disc 1 & Disc 2 & moved the correct tracks into each these.  This fixed the viewing issues in nStream.

I’ve also done something similar with ripped original soundtrack of Chess  (I use dBpoweramp) that did not show correctly in nStream - each of the two CD’s has slightly different descriptions. But some careful editing with both dBpoweramp & Windows fixed it.

As you do not use dBpoweramp with US, you can try one or other of the www tag editors,  most agree http://www.mp3tag.de/ works well.

Go into the DTC and rescan the downloads folder. The albums will appear.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

I have found that a couple of albums aren't tagged correctly, as above. I use a program called 'tag & rename', you have to pay for it after 30 days but it's brilliant.
