Record shops in Brighton

Posted by: apye! on 28 June 2014

Hi folks,

I am planning a trip to Brighton for my 50th birthday on Monday.
I have heard there are a good selection of vinyl shops but as time will be limited which ones would you recommend?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Andy.

There was a recent thread on this subject, I can't remember all the shops. Try a search.

If you start in Trafalgar Street at Wax Factor, come out turn right and first right there are several more shops in that road.

Some here:- http://www.yelp.co.uk/search?f...mp;find_loc=Brighton

Can't remember the names but there are some good vinyl stockists in the lanes.

If you can, come back through Lewes and visit Si's records - good high quality selection of used vinyl at reasonable prices - if you buy a few Si will probably haggle.

Borderline has now closed so Brighton is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Big loss.

Resident Records in Kensington Gardens in the North Laines is best for new vinyl. Wax Factor for second hand.

Otherwise I still prefer People Music in Guildford (on your way down) for the new stuff.

head out the main train station exit and turn immediately right and check out The Record Album for soundtracks and classical vinyl run by the legendary and affable George Ginn. Resident Records in Gardner Street has good selection of new and back catalogue vinyl, cd's etc. Not a great fan of Wax Factor personally but head into the North Laines area for various small collectors shops including Vinyl Demand.

Thanks for all your replies, some very good info.

I have had to call the trip off for today

After a very enjoyable pre birthday trip to London yesterday my poor old back is playing up!!

I still plan to go in the near future so all is not lost.

Once again many thanks to you all,

Andy.

There are some shops recommended on the Record Shop Directory thread.

I don't know why this thread has been locked.
