Time Out, Dave Brubeck - Take Five, HDCD

I just purchased, the above CD, not knowing it wad HDCD, I can't find any mention on the package, put into my CDS3, and saw HCCD letters appear. Intrigued I compared some of the tracks to standard 16bit PCM tracks, and there is certainly more air and treble energy going on and the percussion sounds more accentuated.

What do others think?

Agreed - and no mention of HDCD anywhere on the disc or packaging.  I've had it a few years now.

Just bought the 50th Anniversary edition but no HDCD read out on my player.  The sound is really good, and the bonus material including short DVD documentary is worth getting, but wondering which edition you guys talking about?

On a very sad note R.I.P. Joe Morello.  A great inovator, educator, and Icon of Jazz drumming.  Thanks for the music Joe!

Joe was partially blind too, which puts his achievements on an even higher pedestal.
